Judo

Ink drawing of a judo throw on the tatami

Judo is the way to the most effective use of physical and mental strength. By training in attack and defence, it refines your body and your soul, and helps the spiritual essence of judo become part of your innermost being. In this way you become able to perfect yourself and to contribute something of value to the world. This is the ultimate goal of judo discipline.

Generally speaking, if we look at sports, we find that their greatest strength lies in the fact that their competitive nature makes them interesting, and so they easily attract young people. However valuable a method of physical education may be, if it isn't put into practice it serves no purpose — and therein lies the advantage of sports. At the same time, there are questions here that we must weigh carefully. First of all, so-called sports were not created for the purpose of physical education; people compete for another purpose, namely to win.
