Why karate? – The foundations of physical development

Karate is a playful, dynamic and versatile form of exercise that gives children an excellent foundation for their physical, cognitive and social development. Regular sessions effectively develop coordination, balance and concentration, and strengthen the core muscles responsible for good posture, as well as stamina.

Sessions are run mainly in English, so alongside the sport, children can meet and use English in a natural, playful setting. Where understanding a particular technique or task calls for it, I add an explanation in Hungarian too, so that every child is sure to understand the task and can join in the training with confidence.

Character building and mental strength

Besides physical development, this martial art plays an outstanding role in building character, as it teaches discipline, perseverance, respect and self-control. In a safe and supportive environment, children build healthy self-confidence and learn to handle everyday challenges successfully.

Personal goals and the chance to compete

For those who are especially keen and committed, I later offer the chance to get involved in competitive sport too. My philosophy is that every child deserves support in line with their own abilities and ambitions, whether their goal is simply the joy of movement or competing.

The programme and how the sessions are structured

My programme combines elements of traditional and modern karate to build an exciting, sporty community. The sessions are highly varied: warm-up games that develop agility, basic techniques, playful strength work, obstacle courses, team-building tasks and relaxation all ensure well-rounded development.

Lifelong values beyond the tatami

My most important goal is for children to enjoy the sessions through lots of games and movement, to feel good in themselves, and to come to love sport. Karate gives them life skills and inner strength that they can take with them not only on the tatami but into every area of life.
